Loden has become established in recent decades, especially as an upholstery and curtain fabric. Although it is a natural product, the wool fabric has properties that are particularly appreciated in the private and public sectors, i.e. in hotels or restaurants. The processing of the wool, the spinning, weaving and fulling makes loden an extraordinarily robust upholstery fabric and opaque curtain fabric. The raw material wool is naturally breathable and flame retardant due to the wool’s own protein content. Hard to believe, but even light-coloured loden fabrics are extremely grateful when it comes to cleaning and care. 100% natural: Wool is one of the healthiest and most sustainable natural materials around. A renewable resource, it has been used by people since ancient times to protect, warm and feel safe. We process the finest virgin wool such as merino, lamb, alpaca, angora and cashmere. 100% Manufacture: We have been making fine fabrics from these materials for over 130 years. This ranges from combing the wool to spinning the yarn, weaving the fabrics and finishing. The entire extremely elaborate production still takes place in Austria – at the foot of the Dachstein glacier. 100% design: Our collections – from classic to modern – are oriented towards international trends, always reduced to the essentials and inspired by the colours of nature.
