J.B. Martin

In 1832, Jean Baptiste Martin founded the company, producing velvets near Lyon, France. In 1898, J.B. Martin opened a plant in Norwich, CT. In the late 1950s, production (weaving, dyeing, finishing) was moved to its present location in Leesville, SC. Today, J.B. Martin is servicing worldwide, decorative wholesalers, furniture manufacturers, and contract market (theater curtains, auditorium seating). We offer piece dyed, yarn dyed, plain, embossed, crushed, and printed velvets. They are offered in a choice of fibers: cotton, rayon, mohair, linen, acrylic, polyester, FR polyester, and outdoor solution dyed acrylic. We produce on request, using our customer’s own colors. We sell usually by the piece, as we keep very large stock. If out of stock, we aim to keep the lead time as short as possible.
